You are a bada$$ at MAKING M0N3Y

Perspective

You guys remember that saying “don’t block your blessings” you used to hear from the old folks at church all the time when you were cutting up and you rolled your eyes when you walked away but replied “yes ma’am” anyway out of respect. Welp, this book is the literal road map of all the ways you are blocking your financial blessings with your attitude. So before I dive in let me put this into life perspective. We are smack dab in the middle of a financial crisis literally no one could’ve anticipated. And in the midst of this chaos we are a country divided by many things but I only want to focus on two: The prepared and the unprepared. Did you know the greatest shifts in wealth are spawned out of times like these? So while many people are out of work and frustrated looking to find their next paycheck…there’s the latter sitting on fat 6-8 month emergency funds all while still injecting money into lucrative investments or donating to save small businesses. The majority in less desirable positions are screaming “This isn’t fair, why me?”… but let’s dissect.

June 1st, 2019, I was in my home office closing out my work’s month end Profit & Loss statement, doing my personal monthly budgeting and paying bills when suddenly I felt super irritated and got up to leave after submitting the last payment. 10 minutes later I walked into Barnes in Noble to find a book of interest for my monthly read. YOU ARE A BADASS AT MAKING MONEY in lime green on the shelf dead in front of me. This title resonated with me because A. I’m definitely a Bad Ass and B. I REALLY like making money. I figured with a title like this I could hopefully get a quick guide to finding easier ways to establish multiple income streams using less of my personal efforts. I wanted the fastest road to billionaire so I wouldn’t be sitting there looking at how fat I made someone else’s bank account versus what was in my own. I won’t lie to you, this isn’t what I got lol. Instead this book taught my about road blocks. The invisible kind that keeps you at paycheck to paycheck instead of lucratively abundant. 20 pages in I struggled with a quote I read, so I read it again over and over. Then I absorbed it.

Greed comes from the same lack mindset as poverty.

What does that even mean? It means that my earlier hissy fit I threw at releasing my funds to the system was me expressing selfish desire. I was mad about it like I was never going to see those funds again. That was me experiencing mental “scarcity” were there was none in reality. I already made more than the average American household as an individual and yet here I was upset because my bank account didn’t reflect what I felt it should look like. I felt like a major asshole and immediately went into a guilt trip for wanting more. A literally the very next page she emphasized a new quote contradicting the emotion she just invoked from me.

There is no such thing as too much awesome. Say it out loud with me I LOVE MONEY.

This cynic in me immediately thought, ok girl you playing with me now but I let the thought past in kept reading. SO long story short because I really want you to read this book without giving too much away. The major point of this book was changing your perspective about the way you interact with money. You see: your energy is a form of currency so you must be careful about the way you spend it. You should feel positive and grateful about all interactions you have with money. You give happily, you spend happily, and you receive happily. And sadly enough I had problems in all areas like many others. I also second guessed which charities or people to donate to wondering whether it was legit or not. Stop yourself. THEIR INTENTIONS are NOT YOUR BUSINESS! Let go of your attachment to money. I even had trouble receiving money. My mother always offers to do things for us because when we were growing up she didn’t make the type of income she does now. I don’t need it any longer so I refuse all the time. After reading this book, I refuse less. My energy was blocking my blessings. By refusing her, I was taking away the joy she had to be able to finally give and therefore I wasn’t happily receiving money. Who would've thunk this was an actual problem. So while we are deep rooted in preconceived notions that rich people are corrupt and money is the root of all evil, none of this is true. And if you continue to entertain this thought you’ll never manifest the abundance you want for your life.

This book broke all my preconceived notions. It taught me how to not assume money received can only come in one form. To open your eyes to the way you are receiving financial blessings where you feel there are none. It is a system of subconscious thoughts that you have to actively work on to bring to your conscious mind. So with that being said I read this book in 2 days. On day 3 I went back and did the practices she recommended. I saved one per day. By the middle of June I had an INFLUX of divine blessings! Don’t believe me? I attached the proof, for the naysayers. Within one week, my Geico premium got reduced by $50, I received a random hospital refund from my son’s inpatient visit in 2018, and I got a 5 figure mid-year bonus incentive at work. ONE WEEK YALL! If that ain’t manifestation I don’t know wtf is. So if you are tired of being stagnant with money take this journey. I received a financial blessing every month that year and by the end of 2019 I touched my first 6-figure take home income. Blessed af. After that, it was a breeze. I move different now. I take risk I wouldn’t have taken in a million years. I accept when things don’t go my way with appreciation for the lesson it gave me. And most importantly I accept my current status knowing that it is in no way my permanent limitation.
